  • Greenbelt Council Membership
    Ontario is adding expertise and expanding responsibilities of the Greenbelt Council to advise the province on the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe and the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, while continuing to give advice on the Greenbelt Plan. The council will provide advice to help ensure that environmental protection and growth are effectively managed in the Greater Golden Horseshoe region.

    Ontario has appointed David Crombie, former Toronto Mayor and federal cabinet minister, to chair a <a href="http://www.mah.gov.on.ca/Page196.aspx">strengthened Greenbelt Council</a> as it takes on new responsibilities with expanded membership. In addition, for the first time, half of the members of the Council will be women.
